Egyptian Enthroned Harpokrates Figure, 1st century BC/AD

Rare portrayal of Harpokrates seated on a throne. Depicted as a child with crisp features; an enormous stippled floral wreath on his head.

The richly decorated throne with turned legs and detailed foot-chair. On the side a square pillar providing support to a round pot.

The almost naked god shows a cloak suspended over the shoulder and covering the right leg.

Rare figure with nicely preserved detail. Broken along the belly with missing right arm and crown top. Remains of red, ochre and pink pigment.
