Bichrome Daunian Horned Kyathos, Subgeometric II, 525-475 BC

Round shallow bowl with a two-horned handle. A tiny head with lentoid eye between the raised points.

The front of the handle with a diamond design. The panel underneath with applied clay knobs.

On the inside floor a small 'merged' bird with triangular body, big feet and raised tail.

Bands and short downwards strokes on the outside. Open angles with bird motifs and a wheel motif on the slightly raised bottom.

Museum quality and condition with superb preservation of the added red and bluish black. Handle broken off and reattached. One eye of the handle figurine missing.
