Egyptian Terracotta Head of Priapos, 2nd/1st Century BC

Naturalistic depiction of an elderly man with dramatic gaze.

The god of fertility is rendered with a slightly bent head of delicate features.

The tiny mouth is enclosed by a moustache and a stringy beard. Prominent satyr-like (?) ears below the flowing hair.

Broken below the beard, rear missing. Fine modeling, surface worn in places.
