Egyptian Funerary Cone of Amenemheb, 18th Dynasty, 1325-1295 BC

Noted funerary cone stamped with well shaped hieroglyphs reading: (1) The Osiris, the king’s scribe, whom he truly loves, the overseer of the granaries (2) of Amun, the mayor Amenemheb, hatia of the city, (3) (…) the dignitary, Meh, justified

The stamp shows some signs, not recorded in the drawing no. 554 of Davies&Macadam.

The cone has been attributed to tomb TT A.8 at Dra Abu el-Naga, which is dated to the reigns of Ay and Horemheb (1325-1295 BC).

Good quality and condition. On the shaft the complete impression of a 8-10 year old child’s hand. The cone may have been still soft while the stamp was applied. Point missing.
