Rare
unstamped funerary cone. This variant is often mentioned in the literature
as precursor of stamped cones.
Funerary cones represent the ends of roof support beams. They were inserted
in rows above the entrances of non-royal tombs in Thebes. Unstamped cones
are reported to reach back to the 11th Dynasty.
Large example, only one half of the front preserved. Point missing.
