Egyptian Funerary Cone of Tjanuni, Reign of Tuthmosis IV, 1401-1391 BC

Egyptian funerary cone of the Royal Scribe and Defense Secretary Tjanuni with three columns of hieroglyphs reading: (1) The Royal Scribe, the Scribe (2) of Recruits, the Scribe of the Army (3) Tjanuni, justified.

Registered as no. 240 in Davies/Macadam. 89 examples have been unearthed at the court of the Theban tomb TT 74.

On a stela in his tomb Tjanuni describes his career as an official during the reigns of Tuthmosis III, Amenhotep II and Tuthmosis IV.

Fine example with nice hieroglyphs. White wash on the stamped area, small chip out of the edge. Marks of fingers on the shaft. Point missing.
