Fish-Plate by the Heligoland Painter, Campanian, 350-325 BC

Red-figured fish-plate showing a torpedo, two striped fish and a shell in the field.

The bream and the slender perch with dotted heads and thick vertical stripes. Details in applied white.

The torpedo with many small and five larger dots on the body. The black eyes contoured white on the inner side.

A reversed wave-pattern on the overhanging rim. The central depression painted black.

Intact. Fine quality. White color slightly faded.
