Greek South Italian Beaked Oinochoe, 400-350 BC

Black glazed oinochoe with slender beaked spout and a couple of small moldmade masks at the join to the high swung handle.

The flat shoulder decorated with rays in applied light red color, a laurel wreath around the ovoid body. Bottom and stem of the foot reserved.

The oinochoe is reminiscent of contemporary metallic vessels.

Reconstituted from fragments. Small portion of the handle restored. Otherwise fine condition. Red wash on the reserved areas.
