Small size neck-amphora with a storming Greek hoplite who brings an Amazon
to her knees. On the other side a departing warrior carrying a shield
(device three red blobs) and a spear.
The hoplites wear crested Corinthian helmets, the Amazon a high-crested
Attic one. All sport an animal skin over the red-dotted tunic.
The scenes are framed by attendants. Grape bunches and branches in the
field. Ivy leafs and palmettes on the neck.
Applied red color for the garments. White color for the female skin. Her
legs barely discernible, the Boeotian shield with a faded thunderbolt.
Rim and handles reattached. Mirror-bright black glaze. Superb condition.
