Egyptian Bronze Figure of Bastet, 26th Dynasty, 664-525 BC

The slender cat-headed woman wears a short-sleeved long garment decorated with criss-crossed panels between vertical stripes.

The goddess holds a lion-headed aegis with sun-disc and uraeus in front of her chest.

The usual basket on the crook of her left arm and the sistrum on the outstretched right are lost.

Recessed eyes to bear inlays (?)

Excellent condition. Basket and sistrum missing. Point of one ear damaged.
