Attic Black-figure Mastoid Cup by the Caylus Painter, ca. 500 BC

Both sides with winged goddesses flanked by youths sitting on blocks or fold chairs. The females with white skin and eyes in applied red. Some figures wearing red diadems.

Youths wearing cloaks with red bordures and white triple dots. Two of them also clad in  himatia rendered with large white blobs.

Branches and grapes in the field, single ivy leafs below the handles. The cup is by the Caylus Painter, associate of the Leafless Group.

For an identical youth cf. CVA Tarquinia, Museo Nazionale 2, III.H.12, pl.(1190) 41.5.

Reassembled from fragments, missing handles restored. Small area on a goddess repainted.
