Western Greek Votive Head, Archaic Period, Ex Cahn, 525-500 BC

Greek protome with nicely rendered late archaic features.

The female head is showing small almond-shaped eyes, a prominent nose and lips drawn into a slight archaic smile. She wears a stephane and a veil.

Probably from Sicily, following an Eastern Greek model.

Intact and fine. Soil deposits.

H. 10.3 cm (4.1 in), H. with stand 15.2 cm (6 in)
