Etruscan Terracotta Votive Head, 400-350 BC

Etruscan votive head of a veiled young man with handsome features and short-cropped hair.

The elongated face shows close-set eyes with marked lids, flat cheeks, and a sensuous mouth. The ears are detailed.

Broken at the neck level and along the left jawbone. Light deposits.

H. 10 cm (3.9 in), H. with stand 13.5 cm (5.3 in)

Ex South German private collection of an artist and art collector, purchased between 1960 and 1980.
