Rare Roman bronze owl with incised
detail perched on a hollow hexagonal base.
The fully cast bird with chiseled plumage, eyes and claws.
The multiple stepped base tapers towards the top. Stands on small feet.
The Romans associated owls with Minerva, their goddess of wisdom and prophecy.
Intact and fine.
