Greek Hellenistic Megarian Bowl, 2nd-1st Century BC

Large relief bowl decorated with a net pattern surrounding a central floral medallion on the bottom. An obolo band at the join to the straight rim. The surface covered with a thin red brown glaze.

Megarian moldmade ware was the forerunner of Roman sigillata pottery.

Intact and fine. Red glaze peeled off in places. Mineral encrustation throughout.
